Top Barn Farm Park provides a living classroom, ideal for schools studying key stages 1 and 2, nurseries and groups, overflowing with interactive, educational opportunities and cross-curricular learning. We aim to provide schools with a stimulating experience of all aspects of modern farming as well as river studies, woodland walks and projects based on the different business established on site. All activities are designed to give a closer understanding of issues such as our crop management, livestock welfare and environmental management as well as broader geography field trips or business study projects.
We offer schools a year-round programme of activities as well as being able to explore the farm on our 30 seater people trailer. Other activities include lambing days to crop investigation walks, hedgerow exploration and natural habitats, all designed to encourage children to understand the links between farming, food and the environment. We can offer plenty of hands-on opportunities too: bottle-feeding lambs and kids, feeding the donkeys and hens and handling rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as the use of all our farm park activities.
With undercover areas available and a covered trailer most activities can be carried out under in all weathers and a special area has been created where your group can enjoy a packed lunch. Alternatively we can provide packed lunches to suit your needs and dietary requirements.
